Fully differential 24-bit R2R DAC array
FiiO has equipped the K11 R2R with its newly developed fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor array with four channels.
It consists of 48 resistors per channel, totalling 192 high-precision, ultra-thin film resistors with an accuracy of 0.1% and low temperature drift between the four channels.
Thanks to the specially designed audio circuit architecture, it promises a clean and sharp output with a dark background.
NOS/OS dual operating modes
The FiiO K11 R2R has two operating modes, NOS (non-oversampling) and OS (oversampling).
These offer dual sound characteristics with the device.
In NOS mode, the original sampling rate is retained during signal processing, while in OS mode all signals are oversampled to 384kHz for processing.
NOS mode results in a more musical presentation, while OS mode delivers more detail and clarity.
Powerful amplifier section
FiiO has equipped the K11 R2R with a professionally developed amplifier circuit.
It consists of Ti OPA1642 as a low-pass filter and two SGM8262 operational amps.
The K11 R2R has an output power of up to 1300mW, which is enough to drive even most demanding headphones.
It features three-stage amplification modes that allow easy pairing with sensitive and power-hungry devices.
Two headphone outputs
FiiO K11 R2R has an SE 6.35 mm connection & BAL 4.4 mm output.
You can easily pair different IEMs and headphones with the K11 R2R and enjoy high-resolution music in all its splendour.
True high-resolution audio signal processing
The FiiO K11 R2R supports the decoding of high-resolution audio signals.
It offers full support for PCM and DSD signal processing with up to 32-bit/384 kHz PCM and DSD256 audio signals.
**For DSD256, the DSD output mode must be set to native.
It is converted internally to PCM for R2R signal processing.
Professionally developed low-noise power supply
The FiiO K11 R2R has a professionally developed low-noise power supply.
It consists of 17 low-noise LDO precision voltage regulator ICs and 2 DC-DCs that provide a multi-channel power supply.
The external 12 V power supply ensures a clean output with low noise and low distortion.

FAQ - Fiio K11 vs. K11 R2R
The most obvious difference between the R2R and the K11 lies in the dac chip used.
K11 used a CS43198 ΔΣ chip.
R2R Dac Explainer: The development of a high-resolution R2R dac that supports 384 kHz/24-bit is a new development that is rarely found in entry-level devices.
To see R2R in a DAC/amplifier for this price is highly unusual.
What is the difference between R2R and ΔΣ chips, theoretically you can achieve a warmer sound with most R2R DACs without sacrificing the transparency of the higher frequencies.
Although the THD+N and noise floor of the K11 and K11 R2R are very similar, you still get less harmonic distortion, resulting in a more natural reproduction of the high frequencies.
This means that the R2R has a warmer yet more transparent sound.
Additional changes include the NJW1195A volume control utilising a resistor ladder potentiometer, meaning a more controlled and consistent volume control.
The output power of both units is similar and you can still drive any headphones you could with the K11.
The inputs and outputs have also remained the same.
And there is now an OS / NOS mode that allows you to faithfully recreate the waveforms and two choices in sound tuning.
