Audeze LCD2C Classic over ear planar magnetic, open back headphone. It trades the heavy duty travel case from the LCD2 for a less rugged 'economy' case, swaps wood housing and leather pads for synthetics and is tuned to have a warmer sound more similar to early editions, that many people have loved about Audeze LCD2 headphones since they launched. ** These are the latest 2022 production and include a carry case.
The warmth is combined with the lifelike dynamics, clarity and realistic musical power that people love and expect from Audeze LCD headphones. A braided cable with 6.5mm plug is included - the braided cable is a great quality cable that is durable and resists noise, tangling.
The headband is the comfy suspension type and while the weight is still there, comfort is very good since it has such a large contact area. At 70 ohms and a high sensitivity of 101dB, LCD2C Classics are easier to power than LCD2's of old - you should get great results with a wide range of headphone amps and dacs.

headfonia.com: I think Audeze did the right thing with creating the classic the way they did it. A great looking, more comfortable headphone, which is a very affordable and to top it off with a really great sound quality. In this price range the LCD2 classic certainly is recommended if you want a balanced, precise and clean sound from a more neutrally tuned headphone. It’s very easy to like.

Audeze LCD2 Classic vs LCD2 Rosewood:
Rosewood model has leather head strap and ear pads vs synthetic in Classic
Rosewood has Rosewood housing vs synthetic in Classic
First of all, I find they are incredibly comfortable. The pads are soft and lush, the headband distributes the weight well (they are heavy) and I can listen to them for hours and forget they are there. I love how these sound. I enjoy planar headphones however I find some I’ve tried are reluctant to provide the bass I want. The LCD2 Classic’s give me that great planar sound and beautiful, rich bass. Listening to music is magical with these, just as I knew it would be. I tried a pair in the headphone bar, before Covid, and I’ve been saving ever since. It took a while but it was worth it!!
Thanks to Canada Headphone Bar for quick response and fast shipping.
My main headphones have been the Philips FIDELIO x2. They are my main point of comparison.
The x2 have a mid bass ****, with roll off from 40hz. to 20hz
The bass and low mids on the LCD-2c measure flat from 20hz. to 500hz.
Neither the LCD-2c nor the fidelio x2 have overly present treble. The x2 are brighter but a bit more gritty in the treble. The LCD-
2c have a little less treble, but are smoother in the treble.
The extra mid bass and treble give the x2 a more punchy sound, whereas, the LCD-2c are smoother with more bass extension.
The LCD-2c are smooth, warm, lush and liquid.Someone described the sound as smooth like butter on a hot biscuit.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with my LCD-2c.
