Love these headphones. As a woodworker i was drawn to the walnut, they look fantastic. They are very light, yet sturdy and very comfortable. They have a wonderful, rich full bass. Some may find them too bassy, but thats exactly what i was looking for to complement my other phones. These do not disappoint in the bass department. They also sound great in the mids and highs, They are warm and wonderful for a variety of musical genres from Adele, Celine and Rammstein they do it all well. I have some Focal Clear which are better, but way more expensive. I find that while i love the focal,s there are certain groups or songs that i prefer on the meze. For the price they are fantastic and give phones costing much more a run for their money. Im a very happy camper with these beauties.
Pros: They’re easy to power (play straight out of a portable source or any modern PC motherboard). They’re also very light, keeping them comfortable for longer sessions.
Cons: Would not recommend for someone looking for neutral sound or close adherence to the Harman curve. These are fun sounding and bass-boosted.
Overall the Meze 99 Classics are a VERY solid pick if it matches the sound you’re looking for and the kind of music you’re listening to.
