Audeze LCD-5 Flagship open back planar magnetic headphone sound incredible. Wide headband included. Audeze redesigned their flagship headphone to provide better performance and improved comfort. The impedance was kept low in the design of the drivers, so the LCD-5 just need a quality amp that can provide ample current. The redesigned ear pads are sculpted to improve comfort and help open and extend the soundstage.
Audeze worked to reduce the weight in all aspects of the new design. The headband is carbon fiber, the earcups are made from light and strong acetate and magnesium was used on other parts. The weight reduction is near 1/3 compared to the previous LCD-4, making it easy to wear for hours at a time.
LCD-5 include Audeze's Premium braided, XLR balanced cable, that resists noise from motion and will have excellent durability. An aluminum travel case is also included.

Wow. These are amazing!
These LCD-5s are my second Audeze headphones (LCD-X is the other) and they sound even better than the LCD-Xs. They are also very comfortable with the significantly lower weight. I also love how they "feel." A joy to use. They're pricey, but so worth it.

Fantastic headphones
These headphones are not cheap but when you compare them directly to the rest of the LCD line you can see where the money is going. These are incredibly comfortable to wear for long periods of time and the clarity of sound is incredible. When paired with the right amplifier these will bring out details you never noticed and allow you to really see into the mix. I wanted to go with the X or 3s just for budget reasons but the sound quality and comfort on these were just too good to pass on.
