Meze Audio Liric planar driver closed back headphone. Liric uses drivers similar to the Empyrean but scaled down to perform in a more compact, closed back housing. The drivers are planar Rinaro design, with hybrid dual drive system, with high frequencies in the lower portion, directly in front of your ear and the lower frequencies in the upper portion of the driver.
Liric features many innovate design features for closed headphones, such as the copper trim venting on the back of the earcup, helping provide an airier, spacious image and the housing airspace venting into the earpads, giving more airspace for the drivers to operate, but in a compact, slim housing size. Build quality is gorgeous: all materials, design to enhance comfort and fit, copper on matte black and fit/finish details. Accessories are generous too, with a case and two cables.
Liric is an easy to drive flagship headphone for flexibility so it can be used on the go or for better sound quality, with a top of the line dac / headphone amp at home.
Headfonics.com rated 9.2 (Very nearly their best score for a headphone) It brings excellent design and comfort fundamentals from their TOTL headphones into a smaller and more compact size as well as producing class-leading levels of isolation. Moreover, it has a likable but more aggressive sound signature than what Meze Audio fans might be used to coming from the Empyrean and Elite. Don’t let that stop you from plugging it into a big old fat desktop tube amp. It sounds marvelous from the few we tried in this review thus far so it can just as easily sit in the house as an enjoyable home audio purchase.
Includes 1.5m cable, 3m cable, carry case w/ velvet lining, cable bag, 6.5mm & airplane adaptors
