PCMag.com: Editor's Choice, Excellent. It makes no compromises in performance and feels even sturdier and more comfortable than its predecessor... the audiophile-worthy sound quality alone makes the Maxwell an Editors’ Choice winner for gaming headsets
Audeze Maxwell specs:
so far its preforming great. No issues at all and by far the best "gaming" set I've had.
First off they sound great. Definitely the best sounding headphones I've had, but boy does it come with alot of caveats. For gaming purposes it was rather tricky to setup. Third party chat audio is in one channel and game audio is another. I'm spent hours fiddling around to get it to work. And even then I will randomly lose game or chat audio in the middle of a session. Last night I tried to turn up the volume and it brought my volume down to whisper quiet. Couldn't adjust it until after I reset my computer. And every time I reset I have to mess with the channels again a fiddle around with them because what worked once doesn't always work again. Might be good if all your interested in using them for is music but they are marketed as a gaming headset and even then the 'planar crinkle' is very obvious. Overall I wouldn't reccomend anyone buy these headphones. When they do work they sound amazing, but for the price you pay It shouldn't be such a headache.
Build Quality is outstanding, Audio Quality is outstanding
Pros: - It's a great sounding headset! - Battery lasts forever. - It's comfortable for the whole day, despite its weight. - WC has custom freeze cushions and band for it. - Its buttons can control almost everything (see Cons). - EQ profiles are stored on the headset, so it's kept for all devices. Cons: - On Windows, connected via the dongle, tapping the power button doesn't pause/resume media. It works on my phone via BT though. It's weird because skipping songs does work on Windows. - BT and dongle simultaneous connection sometimes switches temporarily to BT because of quick notifications on my phone. I thought it would only do that when in calls. - When turning it on, it takes 25 seconds after recognizing the USB connection for it to become active on Windows. My Corsair Virtuoso was almost instant. - On a flight, it's not as good on isolating turbine sounds as ANC buds. ANC would've made a great addition to this headset. Overall, if I could go back in time, I'd still buy it again.
I mainly got it for warzone and wooow with the right eq setting you can hear the footsteps from far and a lot more accurately and dont get me started on the mic … everybody i play with is always saying i sound amazing very clear
