LCD-2 features the improved, more comfortable, suspended headband with perforated real leather strap. Lambskin ear pads are super plush and the upgraded braided cable is tough, very flexible and does not transmit noise.
LCD2 is a store favourite and thanks to Audeze's quiet, continual improvements, still one of the best headphones you can own. Full, powerful deep bass response, but with improved clarity, detail and a treble response that has improved notably over the years.
Sensitivity has improved over the years, but they are still meant to be used with something that provides good quality headphone power (if planning to use them with a stereo receiver, please consider a dedicated headphone amp, which will usually provide noticeably better sound quality).
The LCD2 look and feel substantial, they are hand made in the USA and the materials are of top quality! Audeze uses a proprietary thin-film diaphragm that is housed between a unique super-efficient push/pull magnetic structure. (Photos are of our demo unit to show the wood colour / grain and super deep leather pads.)
Cable has been upgraded yet again for winter 2023 - now includes a balanced xlr cable w SE adaptor. Should be ready for use with almost any home amp or headphone amp.

Great place to buy headphones
Fast delivery and competitive pricing... LCD-2's don't disappoint- well made and comfortable. The new stock braided cable does disappoint however. The sound was distant and narrow with highs and lows truncated. Once I replaced the cable (with a balanced Audio Sensibility Impact SE cable) the sound was wide open and as smooth and detailed as all of the reviews online suggest. Highly recommend. Laptop-usb, Marantz HD-Dac1, Bryston BHA-1 amp.

No better place to buy such great headphones
I love these headphones. Such wonderful performance. I loved shopping with headphone bar as always. Their insight, ability to provide meaningful advice, and genuine love for the products shine through in all interactions, whether in person, over the phone, or email.

Great Sound lousy design.
They sounded fantastic unfortunately the single screw that held the earpiece to the band had to be tightened almost daily… BAD design and left a bad taste in my mouth. I sold them to a friend who did not use them daily and it did not bother him so much. SAD to see a great product fail from such a poor design flaw

"Very good sound, but has minor aesthetic imperfections"
"Sounds very good out of my Schiit Magni/Modi, but I'll soon be purchasing a Lyr 2 before fully judging the capabilities of my LCD-2. However, it is already a clear step above my HD-650. The only downside is the slightly chipped wood on the left ear-cup. They are only noticeable up close, but there are about 7 small chips in the bamboo along the grill. It's not enough for me to have them replaced, but such imperfections should not be on a $1200 pair of headphones."
