Sivga Audio Phoenix over ear headphone, open back design with suspended headband and removable cable. Phoenix housings are made from Zebra wood, with stainless steel headband and grilles. Great comfort thanks to light weight, suspended headband and roomy ear cups with fabric layer on the inside surface.
Demo unit, a couple of 1-2mm dings in the wood, cable, pads excellent condition.
The Phoenix have a wide soundstage thanks to their open design, tuned to have a fuller bass than many open back headphones. Phoenix is easy to drive, giving great results with iFi UNO or the many compact dacs we stock. Also works well from a computer, ipad or interface.
Theheadphonelist.com: Through its unique combination of qualities and thoughtful execution, the Phoenix is able to carve out a reasonably uncontested niche in the audio market for bass lovers who still value clear vocals and a spacious soundstage
Headfonics.com: Each aspect of the headphone is balanced, the headphone is well built, but still manages to be light and comfortable. The tonality has a slight bass emphasis, but it’s supplemented with an energetic treble and a marginally recessed but textured midrange. The soundstage is wide but remains immersive because of larger images layered within the soundscape.
Received the Sivga's promptly, and I have to say, even the package is gorgeous. Mine have a slightly browner tone than the pictured ones on the store, but none-the-less, very attractive looking cans. The carrying case is also fantastic, smooth with a great zipper, and luxurious insides. I don't see myself travelling with these phones, but the case kind of makes me want to. As others have noted, the pads could be a bit deeper as my ears brush the driver covers lightly, and if you have a huge head, these may not fit. My normal-ish-to-large head almost maxes out the adjustment band, but I have t bit of room to spare. They are still quite comfortable, and light considering how well made they are. I found the cup rotation a bit tight so I added a dab of machine oil and worked them in a bit. Overall, great fit for me. As for sound quality, these have a great low-end, clear highs without being harsh or bright. There are good reviews available so I won't get too much into it. For the price, they rock pretty solid. I was just listening to Gary Numan's Savage on vinyl, and as a highly-produced sonic soundscape, these things really blew me away. Very pleased! I cant wait to hear how much better they can get once fully broken in. I am looking to add possibly a braided-copper cable to match the classy look of the wood and black. I cant say strongly enough how gorgeous these things look! :) Very happy I found these at the Headphone Bar, and they happened to be on sale for a great price. They are definitely a good value and would buy again. Even at normal retail, the price is definitely great for what you get! I suspect this may be just the beginning of my headphone journey! ;)
There's lots of value in these Phoenix headphones. They sound great, a quality build, great for exercising and very easy to drive. They provide an impressive sound stage in either single ended, or Balanced mode. The Headphone Bar provided great service, in answering any of my questions. The product arrived in timely manner and completely sealed. Thank you Headphone Bar, for another seamless buying experience.
