Darko.audio "I think its absolutely bloody fantastic!"
Whathifi.com: 5 STARS; backs up its cost with the clearest, tidiest and most dynamic presentation we’ve heard from a unit this small... does wonders in cleaning up our laptop’s performance, no matter what kind of file we feed it or whether it’s streaming from YouTube, Spotify, Tidal or playing from our own hi-res library....looking to make the next step up without compromising on size or form, the Cobalt represents something of a no-brainer.
Headfonia.com: Recommended List ... you notice is how clean and clear the new Cobalt is delivering the sound. And not only that, it does it without any effort making it sound wide, natural and musical. The sound stage is really good in both width and depth and the layering is really nice, especially in bass and mids. For the price tag, the sound simply is remarkable.
Tech info:
Not enough weight on sound. No 4.4mm connection.
A good product. I hope the first one was the exception. I bought it AGAIN, even though it died after less than one year which is a testament to its quality. Sounds great, adds spaciousness and crispness to my JH Audio IEMs, which are robust and easy to drive. 3 stars because I had to repurchase and — at this price point — it should last.
it's a big improvement in sound for any phone or such device. The only flaw is that it occasionally stops during movement. Occasionally, not constantly..
This little device is expensive, but it definitely improves the sound quality on my high end Sennheiser headphones. But I would not recommend it for walking or for mobile purposes. The slightest movement of the Apple USB 3 camera adapter will result in a loss of the signal and the music stops playing. However, the device is able to reconnect. I use it mainly on my desk while reading or browsing the internet.
I had already ordered and been using an IFI black label micro DAC/AMP on my desktop. Which only whet my appetite for the same bump in quality when listening from my iphone and other devices. i wasn’t disappointed. I would say that the Dragonfly has a more subtle quality increase but it does really let you hear instruments and vocals that you would miss just using OTS IEM or headphone without amplification. Just makes the musical experience richer.
